The Twilight Movie- Eclipse is set to be released on June 30, 2010. Normally there would be numerous trailers- official and unofficial all over the internet. However, Summit Pictures who produces the Twilight Saga movies has different plans for this movies trailers. The first trailers are to be released on ONLY the Wal Mart The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition to be sold on Saturday, March 20th.

The trailer will be 7 minutes comprised of interviews with creator Stephenie Meyer as well as the movies three main stars- Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart. Summit Entertainment has announced The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released in both conventional theaters and in IMAX on June 30, 2010. While the film was shot with regular cameras, IMAX is going to digitally re-master the movie with their proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology so it can be shown in IMAX theaters.

With the huge money The Twilight Saga has been making at theaters, it’s no surprise everyone wants it in IMAX. This way, theater owners can charge more for tickets and everyone involved can make more money. It’s just unfortunate that they didn’t film any of the movie using IMAX cameras. Of course, with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn still to be shot, perhaps the final chapter will be a real IMAX release. • Read full story…

David Slade, director of Twilight Saga: Eclipse has confirmed on his official twitter that ‘Eclipse’ has officially wrapped shooting at 4.30 am on October 29, 2009.

This is Xavier Samuel on Wednesday night shooting Twilight Eclipse soaking wet, filming in the fake rain over and over again. My source tells me he’s wearing a wetsuit under those clothes to stay dry/warm(er). This is why he appears to be a little more robust. As you’ve seen from his candids, Samuel is rather slight.

Here’s a juicy detail:

I’m told exclusively that Xavier is working on what’s currently intended (at press time) to be the OPENING SCENE in Eclipse. “Riley” in human form is being terrorised down an alley in Seattle pursued by a sinister shadow which turns out to be “Victoria”. He cannot outrun her, she attacks him, and as you can see from the exclusive video below (from PUNKD Images) he writhes in pain from being bitten.

With the premiere of New Moon just a month away, the kids are gearing up for what’s expected to be a massive publicity campaign that will launch into overdrive as soon as Eclipse wraps at the end of October. Enjoy it while it lasts Vancouver. Because if things continue to roll the way they’ve been rolling, Twilight might not be coming back here.

The first movie was shot in Oregon. Oregon desperately wants Twilight to return for the 4th film and they’ve introduced major tax incentives etc to lure the production back. British Columbia on the other hand is getting pounded by Ontario and Quebec (other Canadian provinces with historically active film industries) as both have also pushed tax incentives forward in a bid to take back British Columbia’s business.

British Columbia however has not answered, has not presented incentives of its own to match the competition. As such, British Columbia has already lost out on several productions and now faces the probability of losing Twilight’s final installment.

The crews that are working on Eclipse also worked on New Moon. They were booked back to back well in advance, schedules held for both films. My sources tell me exclusively that the crew was informed weeks ago that they had the all clear to book new jobs when Eclipse wraps. The studio will NOT hold them for Breaking Dawn. I’m told that as of press time the intention is to begin production on the fourth and final in September. In Portland.

Things are fluid, of course. And it could change. But unless British Columbia changes its film tax structure, it’s more financially feasible for Summit to shoot elsewhere. Say goodbye Vancouver.
