Adelaide’s The Advertiser is the first to speak to Xavier Samuel since being plucked from Down Under as an addition to the cast of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The relative unknown beat out A-listers Tom Felton (Potter pics) and Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe) for the role of Riley, and seems humbled by his selection: “I was up against some truly great actors who I’m privileged to be considered among. It’s a fantastic opportunity.”
Indeed it is. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are the hottest things Hollywood has seen probably since Leo-mania in the post-Titanic days 12 years ago.
Eclipse starts filming in Vancouver, Canada, next month and will be released in June 2010.
